I really enjoyed my stay at Shangrela beach resort. I spent two nights here during my 3 week vacation and I have no complaints. The staff were exceptional, attentive, kind, friendly and always willing to help. I stayed in a family room with two double beds as I was supposed to have 3 friends staying with me, however due to illness they stayed at our volunteer house. The beds were extremely comfortable, sheets were clean, and pillows very soft! The facilities in the room were basic, however just what we needed. My only issue was the bathroom, there were a lot of ants, and one morning I woke to a very large spider in the bathroom, to which I had to get the staff to remove for me. There was a piece of mesh that covered a part of the window which wasn’t properly secured therefore was a way in for insects. Otherwise I have no concerns. It’s a great place for solo travellers, and for short stays. The location is perfect and a very short distance walk to the main high street, shop (keels- supermarket), ATM, mask museum, and across the road from the beach. Additionally less than 30 seconds down the road is a disabled turtle home, I visited here only first morning and got to see some of the turtles that are unable to be released back into the ocean, the owner discussed some of the concerns and showed genuine care for the animals. It was free to enter here and great to break up your morning. Finally I would like to add that the food offered within the menu was brilliant. All food freshly cooked and absolutely delicious!! Thanks so much for a lovely stay! ☺️

Hotel is a very old hotel but recently facelifted it seems. Have a nice pool and ambiance all round. But when it comes to room condition you can see how old the hotel is. But they have done a great remake. Cant complain. Specially for the price you pay. Totally worth it. Location is good. Not directly on the beach. You have to cross the road and the parking area to reach the beach. But the location is unpopular, uncrowded and looks awsome. Gives a great view of a fishing harbour. Staff arent professional workers related to hotel industry. But they have done everything and no complains on them either

Beautiful resort over looking beach and the pool. Delicious Food selections. Excellent service. Staff is very helpful during our stay. We celebrated Our Mother's 70th Birthday over there. All requirements of us was organized very well including Beautiful birthday cake and the room was decorated with balloons and other deco's which made my mum day beautiful n surprised. it was a great atmosphere. We definitely recommend the shangrela beach resort as a place for lodge. Anjula Perera

The room was incredibly spacious, offering a stunning beach view right from the comfort of the balcony – the perfect spot to unwind.
